The annual SPN conference is a 4 day conference where presenters from all specialties come to speak and present about various hot topics in pediatric nursing.  This year there were 6 large session speakers, over 50 breakout small sessions, and at least 100 poster presentations from hospitals all over the country.  Topics this year included: 

• Use of Evidence Based Practice

• Becoming a refreshing leader

• The voice of the pediatric patient

• Pediatric Nurses voice

• Mental health management in pediatrics

• Button Battery ingestion

• Discharge Process

In addition to networking, learning, and bonding, we were able to explore Washington D.C..  Fun times included: The National Mall including The White House, The Washington Monument, the Metro, walking downtown, a tour of Children's National Hospital and many delicious eats!
